Bulgogi Sliders

If you are in Midtown Manhattan, and are looking for an unusual, delicious dinner, check out Danji. It's basically a modern Korean tapas bar, serving small spicy dishes loaded with flavor and terrific cocktails and sake. Sam Sifton reviewed the restaurant in August, and then published the recipe in the Times magazine. So of course The Jeremiad had to make it. And we did. And it was awesome. Our only change was to substitute hanger steak for brisket (brisket was $40 for 2 pounds at Fairway, vs. $11 for the hanger, which is one of our fave cuts of steak anyway). The prep took a bit of time, but the cooking and assembly were a breeze, and unlike a lot of published recipes by current restaurant chefs, this one was very authentic and true to form.
